Training Weekend
This weekend I decided to skip the racing.   Torrance is a 2 hour drive from my place and there is only 1 race i can do. Doesn't add up to me. Too bad. Anyways, I headed for the hills!!!!! Literally. Today I did my first TRUE climbing training session.   It hurt AND it was kinda warm.... 99 degrees when we finished. The worst part about today is that it felt like a 4 hour ride, but we only rolled for 2,5.   It was a small but powerful group.  We had one girl in there and she scared the shit out of me....

Ontario Easter Crits
Decided to keep up the tradition and go race Ontario on Easter Sunday.   Pre-regged for 2 races and signed up for the 30+ 1/4 on the spot. We had 4 guys in the first race, 3 others willing to help and a boat load of SC Velo guys ready to play.   Things started of mellow and the early attacks were rendered useless by the wind. It was one of those windy days at Ontario, which made the air quality a tad better, but not by much.    People kept going up the road, but nothing was sticking, the right group never formed. I tried...

When nobody shows up....
Alright, so when nobody showed up to race, I seized the opportunity. This is not putting anybody that was there down, its just that with a smaller field it was a bit easier to get something going. Actually I got pretty lucky too.   The TT is the TT and my luck started there. Windy, which supposedly helps me out, then no mutant TT guys showed up to,so I placed pretty well.   The RR was tough, but not as tough as it could have been. Headwind up the climb keep everyone at...

LA Circuit
Decided to race....hmmmm... sit in most of the time... at the LA Circuit.   My teammate convinced me to do it and I took the bait. Plus I got my new frame and I was sick and tired of riding the TT bike.   The race is longer than a regular crit and to be honest, it felt way shorter than a regular crit. 30 miles came and went so fast that the race to me was over before it started.     I tried to do some things here and there, PRETTY SURE I got a preme, but they never handed it to me, oh...

Training hard, lets see what happens
Last two week I put in monster weeks.   Monster weeks are 20 hours weeks for me. With daylight savings coming early this year, I am really looking forward to what will happen to results this year.   I have been able to ramp up the volume and intensity so hopefully I can get into racing shape BEFORE racing and not like it has been in the last 2 years as i have raced myself into shape.    Next week's omnium will be a good one. I have been riding my TT bike for the last 2 weeks and honestly I am sick and tired of...
