Atlanta — Team Type 1 and 23andMe announce a strategic partnership to research and understand Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes through 23andMe’s Personal Genome Service. 23andMe, Inc., an industry leader in personal genetics, conducted a genetic analysis of all 88 members of Team Type 1, to investigate diabetes and how genes impact athletic performance. The analysis was conducted at Team Type 1’s training camp in Georgia where saliva samples from each team member were collected.

Colorado Springs, Colo. (February 11, 2010) -- USA Cycling announced today that based on last year’s license sales, it will distribute over $404,885 to its 34 Local Associations as part of an ongoing effort to grow competitive cycling at the grassroots level. With the 2009 payout, which is the largest ever and in direct correlation with last year’s 5.6% increase in licensed cyclists, USA Cycling has now delivered more than $2.1 million in direct funding to its Local Associations since the program’s 2003 inception.
Colorado Springs, Colo. (Oct. 14, 2009) - Cari Higgins (Boulder, Colo.) has been elected to the USCF Board of Trustees as its athlete representative. A multi-time track national champion and Pan Am Games medalist, Higgins was elected as the new athlete trustee on Oct. 13 following a recent special election.

Dorel Industries Inc.’s has awarded its global advertising assignment for its leisure/recreational segment with Cossette New York.
Cossette will be responsible for overall branding campaigns for the company’s Cannondale, Schwinn, GT, Mongoose bike brands as well as its Sugoi apparel line. Previously Dorel used multiple agencies to handle this work.
The review included BBH, DDB, Vitro Robertson, Mono, Colle+McVoy and incumbent Goodness Mfg, with Cossette winning the business in April.
