Maxim Iglinsky made the final cut in the Ronde van Vlaanderen to battle with the race's top favourites, but he lacked the strength to respond to the attacks over the final climbs.   He kept his cool, though, and managed to close the day with a eighth in one of Belgium's hardest races.

While it doesn’t feature any cobbled sections, the Koppenberg is billed as a Boulder Spring Classic, offering up plenty of climbing and numerous sections of dirt to challenge the riders.

Cancellara becomes a Ronde legend Swiss Fabian Cancellara became an instant legend today in Belgium with his attack on the Muur-Kapelmuur to win the Ronde van Vlaanderen. The win came at the hands of Belgium's cycling favourite, Tom Boonen, who Cancellara dropped to ride solo to victory.
